Game in 25 minutes with a 5-second delay per move; G/25;d5

K – 3rd Grade (Under 800 USCF)

4th -6th Grade (Under 800 USCF)

7th – 12th Grade (Under 800 USCF)

K – 12th Grade (Under 1000 USCF)

K – 12th Grade (Under 1400 USCF)

OPEN (Must be Adult or Scholastic Player with 1200+ USCF)

Early Fee (registered at least one week prior to the tournament date):

K-3, 4-6, 7-12, U1000 + U1400 = $30

OPEN = $40

Late Fee (registered less than one week prior to the tournament date):

K-3rd, 4th-6th, 7th-12th, U1000 + U1400 = $35

OPEN = $45

We will have 1st – 5th place trophies for all scholastic sections. We will also have 1st – 3rd place overall School Team Trophies. A school must have 4 members to qualify as a team.

Open – 80% of entry fees!! Late fee charges not included in the prizes (based on 20 participants) 1st Place – $224 2nd Place – $168 3rd Place – $112 U1500 – $56 An under rating prize (e.g. U1500) will be in place as long if the number of participants is 10 or greater

A half-point bye will be given for any round prior to the start of the tournament. Once the tournament begins half-point byes can be requested for rounds 1-3 but only zero-point byes for rounds 4 + 5

Fair Play: (taken from the chess.com website)

  • No chess programs or engines (e.g. Chessmaster, Fritz, Komodo, Houdini, Stockfish, Chessbase with any active UCI engine, etc.) can be used to analyze positions in ongoing games at any time.
  • No outside assistance OF ANY KIND is permitted.
  • Fixing game results by arranging games, playing with multiple accounts, or losing intentionally is also against the rules.

SANITATION POLICY

After dealing with the 2020 COVID pandemic we are requiring all particpants to wash hands/sanitize before each round. Thanks for helping us keep safe.

Refunds are available up to ONE WEEK prior to an event. This gives us ample time for coordinating. Thanks for your understanding!

All participants, guardians, and observers must comply with Jefferson County Fairground's code of conduct.

Total Amount:
By signing up for the Summit School of Chess Tournament Series, the participant, (or parent/guardian if a minor), in this activity acknowledges the risks associated with the activity and agrees to hold Summit School of Chess, Jesse Cohen and any other employees or volunteers regarding this tournament series harmless in the event of any damages or injury that may arise.

Authorization to Take and Use Photographs/Video and Waiver and Release of Claims

I grant Summit School of Chess, its directors, officers, employees, and faculty non-revocable permission to capture my image and likeness in photographs, videotapes, digital media, motion pictures, audio recordings, or any other audio, visual, online, or interactive media. I acknowledge that Summit School of Chess will own such Images and further grant Summit School of Chess permission to copyright, display, publish, distribute, use, modify, print and reprint such Images in any manner related to Summit School of Chess business, including without limitation, publications, advertisements, brochures, web site, videos, digital media, or other electronic displays and transmissions. I further waive any right to inspect or approve the use of the Image by Summit School of Chess prior to its use. I forever release and hold Summit School of Chess harmless from any and all liability arising out of the use of the Images in any manner or media whatsoever, and waive any and all claims and causes of action relating to use of the Images, including without limitation, claims for invasion of privacy rights or publicity.
